Position Overview

The Hair Stylist Lead is responsible for delivering outstanding hair services to spa guests while providing day-to-day leadership and mentorship to the salon team. This role combines technical expertise with supervisory accountability, ensuring service quality, team performance, and guest satisfaction consistently meet OneSpaWorld standards.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Services

• Deliver a full range of professional hair services including cuts, color, blowouts, styling, treatments, and special occasion looks
• Maintain a high standard of consultation practice, recommending appropriate services and retail products tailored to each guest
• Resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally, escalating to management when appropriate

Team Leadership

• Provide guidance, coaching, and on-the-floor support to junior stylists and salon assistants
• Assist management with scheduling, daily workflow coordination, and service assignments
• Conduct skills assessments and peer training to maintain and elevate service standards
• Lead by example in professionalism, technical execution, and guest engagement

Operations

• Ensure the salon area is maintained to cleanliness, safety, and brand presentation standards
• Monitor and support retail product knowledge among the team; contribute to achieving sales targets
• Assist with inventory management and supply tracking as directed
• Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation regulations

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of professional hair styling experience in a salon, spa, or hospitality environment
• Demonstrated leadership or senior stylist experience with the ability to motivate and guide a team
• Cosmetology license valid in the applicable state/jurisdiction (required)
• Proficiency in a broad range of hair services including color, cutting techniques, and thermal styling
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a guest-first mindset
• Experience with retail sales and product recommendation
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a luxury spa, hotel, or resort environment
• Familiarity with leading professional hair care brands
• Previous experience supervising or mentoring team members in a salon setting
