We are seeking a skilled Business Intelligence Data Architect to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and managing solutions using a range of technologies. This role demands in-depth understanding of data modeling, warehousing, and familiarity with BI technologies. The goal is to ensure our data architecture aligns with business requirements and promotes efficiency and scalability. 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic data architecture plans.
  • Design and build large and complex data sets, from spurious sources while thinking strategically about uses of data and how data use interacts with data design.
  • Implement AI and ML algorithms to support data analysis initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain Business Intelligence (BI) interfaces. Including query tools, data visualization and interactive dashboards, ad hoc reporting, and data modeling tools.
  • Collaborate with business teams and understand their requirements to develop BI solutions.
  • Translate business needs to technical specifications.
  • Design, build, and deploy BI solutions such as BI dashboards.
  • Maintain and support data analytics platforms.
  • Create tools to store data (e.g., OLAP cubes).
  • Conduct unit testing and troubleshooting.
  • Evaluate and improve existing BI systems.
  • Collaborate with teams to integrate systems.
  • Develop and execute database queries and conduct analyses.
  • Create visualizations and reports for requested projects.
  • Develop and update technical documentation.
  • Develop and maintain data dictionaries.
  • Develop and maintain ETLs.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for improvement in the existing data architecture.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of commercial experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a BI Developer or Data Architect.
  • In-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP), and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms and experience with big data tools.
  • Spa, Wellness, Fitness, Cruise, Travel, or Hospitality industry experience preferred.
  • Proven experience in working with a global team.
  • Proven experience in providing verbal and written communications from executives to front-line staff.
 
Knowledge and Skills
  • Knowledge of SQL queries, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
  • Experience with data modeling techniques, including database normalization, dimensional data models, star schemas, graph and vector database, etc.
  • Familiarity with BI technologies such as Microsoft Power BI, Oracle BI, etc.
  • Experience with Qlik Technologies products is a plus.
  • Experience with cloud services (AWS, Microsoft Azure) would be a plus.
  • Experience with AI/ML technologies and LLMs (e.g. ChatGPT).
  • Experience with Python is a plus.
