POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a Licensed Massage Therapist to join our team at Ocean Club for weekend coverage (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday). The Licensed Massage Therapist is responsible for providing and maintaining the highest standards of massage therapy and home care recommendations. This role requires excellent guest care skills and a genuine commitment to creating a feeling of rest and relaxation for spa guests, resulting in high retention and increased treatment and retail sales.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

• Provide guests with thorough and knowledgeable professional massage treatments, adhering to company protocols
• Maintain established revenue and guest retention goals for the massage department
• Ensure each guest receives a detailed prescription plan following their service for a home care regimen
• Demonstrate full knowledge and understanding of all services and products while educating guests in these areas
• Actively promote spa treatments, retail products, packages, and seasonal promotions
• Set up treatment rooms according to spa standards before each service
• Uphold and practice universal health care protocol and standards of sanitation and sterilization as directed by state/city law and spa policies and procedures
• Perform prep work, clean, and restock treatment rooms per spa standards
• Attend scheduled departmental meetings, trainings, and workshops
• Provide services within the scope of practice as defined by applicable regional laws and regulations

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

• Valid massage therapy license required
• Must have received massage training from an accredited or approved massage school
• 12 to 18 months of preferred experience working in a high-end resort or urban day spa environment
• Must be available to work Friday, Saturday, and Sunday; flexibility for evenings and holidays a plus
• Thorough knowledge of body anatomy and the effects of massage techniques, including contraindication assessment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; legible and articulate documentation
• Demonstrated commitment to delivering the highest quality of massage therapy
• Computer literate
• Cooperative, positive attitude with a professional and pleasant manner
• Ability to interact with sensitivity to the needs of guests and coworkers
• Demonstrates respect, sensitivity, and concern for guest needs at all times
• Ability to identify and act on opportunities to collaborate across teams to support business goals

Candidates must be legally eligible to work in the Bahamas to be considered for this role.
