We are seeking a skilled Data Architect to join our team. A Data Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing an organization's data architecture to ensure data integrity, accessibility, and security. This role involves developing comprehensive data strategies, creating data models, and overseeing database design and management. The Data Architect ensures seamless data integration from various sources, establishes data governance policies, and collaborates with IT teams to optimize data solutions. A proficiency  in a dynamic technical stack is essential for developing and managing ETL pipelines, enabling efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading processes. Additionally, the Data Architect monitors system performance, plans for scalability, and ensures compliance with data privacy regulations.

The goal is to ensure our data architecture aligns with business requirements and promotes efficiency and scalability. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Creating and maintaining databases, data storage solutions with scalability planning in both onsite and cloud storage
  • Developing data models to represent data structures, relationships and constraints, facilitating effective data management and retrieval
  • Develop and maintain ETL pipeline processes.
  • Develop and execute database queries and conduct analyses.
  • Develop and execute Python scripts
  • Develop and update technical documentation.
  • Develop and maintain data dictionaries.
  • Designing and Developing comprehensive data strategies that align with existing infrastructures, data integrity, security and accessibilities
  • Proactively identify opportunities for improvement in the existing data architecture.
  • Develop and implement strategic data architecture plans.
  • Design and build large and complex data sets, from spurious sources while thinking strategically about uses of data and how data use interacts with data design .
  • Implement AI and ML algorithms to support data analysis initiatives.
  • Collaborate with business teams and understand their requirements to develop BI solutions.
  • Translate business needs to technical specifications.
  • Create tools to store data (e.g., OLAP cubes).
  • Conduct unit testing and troubleshooting.
  • Create visualizations and reports for requested projects.
  • Evaluate and improve existing BI systems.
  • Develop and maintain Business Intelligence (BI) interfaces. Including query tools, data visualization and interactive dashboards, ad hoc reporting, and data modeling tools.
  • Design, build, and deploy BI solutions such as BI dashboards.
  • Maintain and support data analytics platforms.
  • Collaborate with teams to integrate systems.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of commercial experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Data Architect.
  • In-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP), and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms and experience with big data tools.
  • Spa, Wellness, Fitness, Cruise, Travel, or Hospitality industry experience preferred.
  • Proven experience in working with a global team.
  • Proven experience in providing verbal and written communications from executives to front-line staff.
 

Knowledge and Skills
  • Knowledge of SQL queries, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
  • Experience with cloud services (AWS, Microsoft Azure)
  • Experience with data modeling techniques, including database normalization, dimensional data models, star schemas, graph and vector database, etc.
  • Experience with Python.
  • Familiarity with BI technologies such as Microsoft Power BI, Oracle BI, etc is a plus.
  • Experience with AI/ML technologies and LLMs (e.g. ChatGPT) is a plus.
  • Experience with Qlik Technologies products is a plus.
