We are looking for a talented and motivated Accounting Manager to join our Corporate team and grow in their career! This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a publicly traded company. In this role, you will lead an accounting team of Senior and Staff Accountants to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. You will play a key role in developing and maintaining strong accounting practices while supporting the broader goals of the finance team. This role reports to the Divisional Controller and requires strong interpersonal and communication skills.Responsibilities & Duties
Lead & Inspire Your Team- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Senior and Staff Accountants, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous growth.
- Set clear goals and objectives for each team member and provide ongoing coaching to support their professional development.
- Handle personnel matters including conflict resolution, performance management, and training for new and existing staff.
- Own the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process in accordance with US GAAP, ensuring accuracy and timeliness at every step.
- Prepare and present monthly financial statements for management review and analysis.
- Review and analyze reconciliations of significant balance sheet accounts.
- Review monthly recurring adjustments including depreciation expense, goodwill amortization, bonus accruals, and more.
- Ensure intercompany payables and receivables are properly eliminated and related party transactions are reconciled.
- Support the Controller in responding to inquiries from the finance team regarding financial results and special reporting requests.
- Ensure monthly and quarterly bank compliance activities are completed accurately and on time.
- Ensure major product vendor accounts are reconciled and open invoice accruals are performed for significant expenses such as travel and freight.
- Work closely with internal and external auditors, serving as a key point of contact and ensuring all requests are addressed accurately and on time.
- Ensure monthly inventory purchases are accurately recorded from the distribution system.
- Perform monthly theoretical inventory calculations for cost of product adjustments.
- Process and record quarterly book-to-physical inventory adjustments.
- Oversee quarterly physical inventories onboard vessels and at warehouses, ensuring accuracy and accountability across all locations.
- Assist with cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and forecasting activities.
- Collaborate with finance department managers to support overall department goals and objectives.
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and implement more efficient procedures without sacrificing accuracy.
- Maintain and update the Standard Operating Procedures manual as processes evolve.
- Support the Controller with special projects and workflow improvements.
Minimum Requirements
Education- BA/BS in Accounting and Finance

- A background in public accounting is a bonus.
- Prior supervisory experience in the financial reporting/general ledger area.
- Experience with accounting for consolidations and combinations is highly valued.
- Must be PC proficient and able to thrive in a fast-paced setting. Experience with enterprise accounting software such as NetSuite is a bonus. Must have strong experience with Microsoft Outlook and Word.
- Advanced Excel skills are essential – you should be highly proficient with pivot tables, complex formulas, and data analysis tools.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal, supervisory, and customer service skills required.
- Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet deadlines required.
- Prior experience mentoring employees is highly desirable.
